Universal Selecta & Midsummer Milano: Giotto Round at Salone del Mobile 2026

Installation concept

For Salone del Mobile 2026, Universal Selecta reinterprets its partition systems originally
conceived for office environments as domestic architecture.
The modular glass and aluminium walls define an intimate and contemporary space,
where Midsummer Milano’s Giotto Round sleep system becomes the natural focal point of
the composition.
Two Milanese excellences, two distinct design languages, one shared intention: to
demonstrate that technical precision and domestic beauty can coexist within a single,
coherent vision.

Giotto Round

Giotto Round was conceived as a precise challenge: to design a round sleep system with
no compromise on comfort or finish.
Both base and mattress are built on two layers of pocket springs and upholstered with
linen, Cheviot wool and horsehair, ensuring support, breathability and long-term
performance.
The topper, in silk and Cheviot wool, completes the system with a soft and natural comfort
layer.
The piece is dressed in Loro Piana Interiors linen, available in a wide range of colours.
Entirely handmade in Italy.

Midsummer Milano

Midsummer Milano is an Italian sleep atelier founded by architect Chiara Mennini.
Each sleep system is entirely handcrafted by two artisans, from start to finish, using only
natural fibres, wool, cashmere, silk, horsehair, linen, and dressed in Loro Piana Interiors
fabrics.
No synthetic materials, no standardisation.
The bed is conceived as an architectural element: specifiable, customisable, and integral
to the project.
