Why Midsummer Milano exists, in the words of the founder

I am an architect. I have spent my career thinking about space,  how light enters a room, how materials age, how proportions make you feel at home before you even understand why.

At some point I started asking a question that seemed almost too obvious: why does the bed,  the place where we spend a third of our lives,  get treated as a technical product from a catalogue?

A sofa gets specified. A kitchen gets designed. A floor gets chosen with care. The bed gets ordered.

That disconnect between the way we design spaces and the way we treat sleep is what gave rise to Midsummer Milano. Not to make a better mattress, but to design sleep as a system  with the same rigour, the same material intelligence, the same attention to proportion I would bring to any architectural project.

Every piece is built by hand, from start to finish, by the same two Italian artisans. Two or three full days of work per mattress. This is not a marketing promise, it is a method.

The materials we use: wool, silk, cashmere, horsehair, linen, Ingeo are chosen  because they perform better, age better, breathe better. When we upholster our systems in Loro Piana Interiors fabrics, we do so because we share the same idea of quality: not as an effect, but as the consequence of every choice made along the way.

Midsummer Milano exists for those who treat rest with the same care they give to the rest of their lives.
