Midsummer Milano Wins Green Product Award 2025 for Top Bed System

An Italian vision of sustainable luxury takes the spotlight in Berlin
Midsummer Milano is proud to announce that its Top Bed System has been awarded the prestigious Green Product Award 2025 in the Interior & Lifestyle category. The award ceremony, held at the Nordic Embassies in Berlin, recognized outstanding products and concepts in design, innovation, and sustainability from across the globe.
This year’s edition of the Green Product Award saw a record participation: over 1,500 entries from 46 countries, reflecting the rising importance of sustainable materials and ethical craftsmanship in shaping the future of design. From 250 nominated finalists, winners were selected in 11 categories by an international jury including Uwe Melichar (Touch Design Ltd.), Prof. Claus-Christian Eckhardt (Lund University), and Katja Keienburg (baby&junior).
The Top Bed System by Midsummer Milano stood out for its groundbreaking use of plant-based and biodegradable materials and its ability to pair sustainability with comfort, longevity, and beauty. In particular, the summer side features Orange Fiber, an innovative Italian textile derived from citrus by-products—used in bedding for the first time. This fresh, breathable padding ensures natural temperature regulation and moisture control without the use of synthetic foams.
The jury praised the product as a “game-changer in the industry,” emphasizing how it “reduces dependency on synthetics while upcycling agricultural waste,” offering “a sleep experience that minimizes environmental impact while optimizing comfort.”
The system—composed of boxspring, mattress, and topper—is upholstered with high-performance fabrics chosen according to the seasons: two types of natural linen for summer, and a luxurious blend of cashmere and linen by Loro Piana Interiors for the winter side, which enhances the insulating properties of wool and other warm materials.
