Rome wasn’t built in a day: the Story of Midsummer from an Architect’s perspective

When I set out to create Midsummer, I had a vision of combining timeless design with exceptional comfort—something I felt was missing in the world of luxury mattresses.

As an architect, I’m drawn to spaces and objects that embody a sense of harmony, where each detail works in concert with the whole. With Midsummer, I wanted to apply this same principle to sleep, creating a product that could be both an elegant design statement and a sanctuary for rest.

It took ten years of experimentation, iteration, and collaboration to bring Midsummer to life. Partnering with the renowned designer Daniela Puppa, we worked to shape every mattress as a piece of functional art—imbuing each with her sophisticated eye for proportion, color, and materials. Together, we explored how the right design can elevate the entire sleep experience, creating a mattress that is visually stunning yet calming, adaptable to any interior.

Quality, for me, goes beyond the look and feel of the product. It’s about the materials we use, the precision of each stitch, and the journey each element has taken to arrive here. We source fabrics from Loro Piana Interiors, carefully selected for their durability and unmatched beauty. Inside, we’ve chosen precious fibers like cashmere, silk, and horsehair to naturally regulate temperature, ensuring comfort through all seasons. These materials don’t just look and feel luxurious—they support ethical sourcing and sustainable practices, values that matter deeply to me.

The third pillar of our vision is longevity. In architecture, we create buildings meant to stand the test of time, and I wanted Midsummer mattresses to embody that same endurance. Our mattresses are designed to provide comfort and support for years, ensuring they remain beautiful and functional, adapting with the natural changes of the materials over time. Each mattress is more than a purchase; it’s an investment in quality, crafted to offer lasting comfort and beauty.

Looking back, I realize the journey wasn’t easy, but every challenge brought us closer to perfecting the art of rest. Midsummer is more than a brand; it’s a commitment to beauty, integrity, and the ultimate sleep experience.

Thank you for being part of this journey.
